Train with us
We normally take on one or two trainees each year. You will do four seats, rotating 6-monthly in March and September of each year. There are three core seats that each trainee will complete: Corporate (experience in one or more of Corporate, Commercial and Employment); Commercial Dispute Resolution (experience in general Commercial Disputes or Property Disputes or both); and Real Estate (experience in Residential Development and Commercial Property).
If you are interested in Private Client work, we can offer you the opportunity of doing a Family or Tax Trusts and Probate seat, in place of one of the three core seats. Your final seat may be in any of our practice areas and we’ll discuss it with you during your third seat.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with at least a 2:1 degree, together with good A-levels and GCSEs. If you also have some experience of working as a paralegal, that is a distinct advantage (although not essential).
In terms of location, it doesn’t matter where you come from, but it is important that we’re satisfied that you intend to live within an hour’s commute from our offices and aim to remain with the firm at the end of your training contract. We cannot always guarantee a position, but it is certainly our intention. We are proud of the quality of the training we provide – many of our former trainees have stayed with the firm and progressed their careers with us, including several of our current partners.
We have a partner dedicated to overseeing the training programme. Andrew King is our Training Principal, as well as being one of our Real Estate Partners, and originally started with us as a trainee.
We know the importance of support throughout the training contract, and all trainees are able to speak with a partner on a daily basis. The Training Principal operates an open-door policy and is happy to be available whenever needed. Informal and formal reviews are held throughout the training contract on a regular basis, to help you develop your skills.

We do not currently have any Trainee vacancies; however please continue to check this page for updates regarding future opportunities.
