What do you enjoy most about being a trainee at Rawlison Butler?

Being a trainee at RB has proved to be a valuable experience. From day one I have been involved with real cases and given contact with clients and have been encouraged to develop new skills. At RB you are given the opportunity to be involved with real work and your contribution is valued. I have found that there is always someone who is willing to help or give advice from the support staff to the partners and if there is something which I don’t understand there is always someone who I can turn to and ask for an explanation. The firm is also very sociable and encourages a work-life balance so it is easy to get to know people throughout the firm and feel part of a team very quickly.

Where do you see yourself in 3 years' time?

To be working as a qualified solicitor and continuing to develop my legal career.

What would you say to someone considering applying for a training contract at RB?

It is really important to think about the type of firm you want to work for, where you want to work and the lifestyle which comes with it. At RB you are given hands-on experience and encouraged to develop professionally from an early stage whilst being given the support you need. Being a trainee at RB means you have the opportunity to work in a range of departments and experience a variety of work within each. At RB you are treated as an individual, not just a number, and your contribution is valued within the team in which you work. Above all the quality of work the firm attracts is comparable to those in the City; however at RB you can also enjoy a healthy work-life balance in a great location.
