Expertise
I am a corporate finance lawyer, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, BIMBOs, disposals, corporate structuring, syndicated finance, bank and private funding and security work, off-shore transactional work and joint ventures across a broad range of industries. I have particular experience in the care home, insurance, aviation and off-shore unit trust and property holding company sectors and have a reputation for efficient deal project management and swift and satisfactory closings.
Profile
I have spent my career advising clients and working with professional advisers across Sussex, Surrey, London and Kent and know the “Gatwick Diamond” area very well. Most recently, I spent over 4 years at Thomas Eggar being promoted to Senior Associate before joining Rawlison Butler in 2011.
What others say about me
“I worked with Danos on a few deals that concluded with him acting as my lead lawyer during the sale of the company. In those deals, and particularly the sale, Danos displayed a real sense of pragmatism towards getting the deal done rather than scoring legal points off the opposition. His communicative and inclusive style meant that we were always aware of what was happening, where we should compromise and where we should stick to our guns. He had a broad knowledge that ensured this large (£12m EV) deal was successfully completed and I would happily recommend him to anyone seeking a commercial/corporate lawyer.” – Garret Turley (former Managing Director of Pet Doctors Ltd)
In my spare time …
I am a season ticket holder at Brighton and Hove Albion and attend as many matches as family commitments allow!
What I said when I was asked ...
How do you contribute to our Corporate Social Responsibility?
I took part in the Dragon Boat Race for charity. I also support the Alzheimer’s Society, who provide a valuable resource for people in need of their expertise and support.
What has been your most challenging deal?
In terms of most challenging deal - a complex purchase of five Jersey property unit trusts by a Guernsey company for more than £50m in a short timeframe, involved me project managing and negotiating with a number of different lawyers, counsel and professional advisers across multiple jurisdictions. I do not think that I have ever received more e-mails or phone calls on one transaction in such a short period of time!
What is your strongest characteristic - how do your colleagues describe you?
Pragmatic, determined and willing to listen.
