I specialise in Inheritance Tax work both lifetime and post death planning. I deal with the creation administration and breaking of trusts and advise trustees of private trusts and charitable trusts of their roles, duties and responsibilities.

I trained with one of the country’s largest firms in the City of London for 8 years and joined Rawlison Butler in 1971. I was Department Head for many years and we have built up an excellent team of Lawyers in the department.

I am executor / trustee / attorney for numerous clients and have been a School Governor (Chairman), trustee of charities large and small (Chairman of large and small).
I am a Football Referee and enjoy watching rather than participating in most sports.

How do you contribute to our Corporate Social Responsibility?
I recently enjoyed the task of merging two charities with very similar outlooks thus increasing the efficiency of the merged charity and its financial viability.
What changes do you expect in the next 12 months?
Management of considerable sums of trusts/estate assets in these volatile times.
What has been your most challenging work?
Merging three off shore trusts – bring them onshore and variation under Variation of Trusts Act thus saving a family trading company and enabling massive expansion.
How do your colleagues describe you?
Honest, fair and unflappable.
What makes you think creatively?
Years of being Department Head meant that I could not switch off the creativity button.
