Entrepreneurs, Partnerships and LLPs

As an entrepreneur, setting up and running a business can be a daunting prospect, and can take a great deal of hard work especially if you have never set up or run your own business before.

Entrepreneurs

For many people, having their own business is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences that they may undertake.

We understand that the life of an entrepreneur can also be a lonely one and any professional support or advice received can often be invaluable.

Our Corporate Team acts for a large number of entrepreneurial clients and understands the issues and challenges that your business may encounter from time to time from initial start-up problems to expansion and growth at an unanticipated rate. These issues may include:

  • Funding requirements
  • Staffing problems
  • Expansion requirements
  • Personal time commitments
  • Reaching the next level

Offering a commercial sounding board for your growth ideas

We are always happy to talk these issues through and have become the first port of call for a number of our clients, not only to provide legal advice but to act as a sensible commercial sounding board for their ideas for growth. In addition, our team can help you to identify steps that you can take to reduce the burdens faced by small firms when setting up and growing their businesses and we will work with you to provide as much support as you need to be able to run a successful business in your own right.

Business mentors for young entrepreneurs

We recognise that young entrepreneurs are the business people of tomorrow and that they often need the most support and advice to get their ideas off the ground and to start up their businesses. In this regard, a number of our partners of the firm are also willing to act as business mentors for young entrepreneurs where appropriate, and can offer a range of advice and support based on their experience of working across a range of sectors within the local business community.

Meeting like-minded entrepreneurs

The firm also sponsors several local entrepreneurial groups and uses these connections to help our entrepreneurial clients meet like-minded people and to discuss common issues and business problems with them to find solutions. Although these groups can offer useful networking opportunities their aim is not to promote or encourage selling to each other and strict limits are set on the number of professionals who attend. These groups include the Sussex Business Lunch Club

Partnerships & LLPs

For those looking for a less formal business structure, partnerships and LLPs can be an attractive alternative to a private company.

If you are thinking of converting to or setting up a Limited Liability Partnership we can advise you on the legal issues that arise and help you to identify the best structure for your business.

If you are already operating your business as a partnership but do not have any formal agreements in place, speak to us to see how we can assist in putting an effective partnership agreement in place.

We have particular experience acting for property developers and businesses using LLPs as part of their corporate structure for tax efficiency and asset management purposes.

Who we do it for

We act for many entrepreneurs, from those who are setting up a business for the first time to experienced entrepreneurs with interests in numerous businesses.
