Partner, Head of Commerce & Technology
Mark qualified in 1988 and joined
Rawlison Butler in 1997 from a regional law firm where
he was a partner. Prior to that he was in London where
he started his career in commercial contract and information
technology law. His portfolio currently includes work
on outsourcing, agency, distribution, supply and franchise
agreements, and UK and EU competition law. A member
of The Society for Computers and Law, Mark also focuses
on IT and e-commerce contracts and non-contentious intellectual
property. Mark is a regular speaker on issues of agency
and distribution, IT law and e-commerce.
His work has taken on an increasingly
international flavour, advising significant clients
in the travel, manufacturing, engineering, distribution
and retail sectors. He was heavily involved in the negotiation
and drafting of contractual arrangements for a major
overseas client in respect of the acquisition by that
client of a business division of British Airways and
the outsourcing to that client of British Airways' mission
critical reservation and departure control systems.
