Divorce and separation - frequently asked questions
Question
Wouldn’t it be cheaper and easier to do my divorce online?
Answer
It is possible to find a website for dealing purely with divorce. This website may provide you with the tools for financial settlement but simply for getting from married to divorced. The divorce website may have its problems in that some advice may be missing and some may not be clear. We get a number of cases where people have tried this route and mistakes have been made and it has then been more costly to correct the situation in terms of Court fees etc.
Even if you are divorced, you will probably still need to reach a clean break financial settlement to provide yourself with security for the future. The website may not provide for this.
